Skillsets at Davis Groundworks - Confined Spaces

At Davis Groundworks we need to regularly attend a number of courses throughout the year to ensure we are always following Best Safety Practices.

Working within confined spaces, such as manholes/trenches etc, there are a number of safety practices and procedures and specific equipment we carry:
  1. City & Guilds 6150 Confined Spaces Certification.
  2. MGF trench and temporary works support systems.
  3. Hoist.
  4. Harness.
  5. Gas monitor.
  6. Generator, lighting and pumps.
  7. Breathing apparatus.
  8. Disposable suits.
Ten members of our team are trained to carry out work in this specialised area. In the past 12 months we have completed work on behalf of Watkins Jones, Lovell Homes, Berkeley Homes and Wessex Water clients where these specialist skills have been called upon.

Our Company capability demonstrates we have:
  1. Knowledge of the law applicable to confined spaces.
  2. Aware of the hazards likely to be encountered in confined spaces.
  3. Know the control measures required to reduce the risks of injury or ill health in a confined space.
  4. Safety equipment ready prior to entry, during entry and working in a confined space, including gas monitoring, rescue harnesses and winch operation.
  5. Knowledge of the emergency procedures.
