About Davis Groundworks
Management Summary
Davis Groundworks was established in 1985 and is a local family business based at our Marshfield location.
Our work focuses around excavation, pipelines, roads, sewers, surface water systems and all aspects of concrete works. To this end we have developed core skills to handle both large and small contracts as well as complex projects involving the management of multiple subcontractors.
Over the past 30 years we have successfully undertaken a diverse range of projects for both Public and Private sector clients. These include the building of underlying infrastructure for Police stations, Schools, industrial units, houses & utilities.
Huge Capablities
In the past 10 years we've completed significant contracts at Wessex Water including: sewage works bridge upgrades, reed beds, storm tanks, pipelines, flood defences and treatment works modifications. We're proud to have been involved with these contracts and that none suffered any remedial work. Davis is an Approved Vendor to Wessex Water for projects up to £500,000 and appointed subcontractor for new sewer connections & diversions across the Wessex area.

- Development of 5 luxury homes at Upper Wraxall for Feltham Construction
- Subcontracting work at the Tidworth Army barracks for Thames Water. Rated “Best Contractor” by Health and Safety committee
- Complex underpinning and basement construction on listed farmhouse at Giles Green Farm, Brinkworth
- Completed groundworks and civil engineering package for staff accommodation (10 dwellings, 3 sites) at Marlborough College
- Decommissioning of pre-war fuel tanks, sealing and making safe and weighbridge upgrade at Avonmouth Docks for a flour milling company
- Completed Groundworks package to dpc of new dwelling and extension at Coleford as well as construction of special retaining walls and Radon gas barriers
- Undertook 4 acres of land drainage, reprofiling of Horse training arena and construct new fishing lake at Saul near Gloucester
- Groundworks package including road, sewer, storm, electricity, gas services for 11 houses at Radstock, near Bath
- Range of services including special piling, embankment reinforcement, land drainage, ground beams, retaining walls for multi million pound contemporary home on the outskirts of Bath. (Nominated for “Grand Designs”)
- Increasing capabilities of the Stanton Drew sewage works. A 15 week programme for Wessex Water. (93 out of 95 in Health and Safety audit, completed under budget and 2 weeks early)
- Remedial roadside repairs to collapsed gullies for Wessex Water at Wellington in Somerset
- Rebuilt Combe Flury production sewage treatment works for Wessex Water near Taunton
- Complete Groundworks package for newbuild detached house at Minety near Swindon
